An opportunity has arisen for the challenging and interesting full time post of Caretaker at the Council Offices at Legion House, South Street, Ashby de la Zouch, LE65 1BQ (37 hours per week worked on a variable basis and including evening and weekend work and bank holidays)

The ideal candidates should have:

Basic DIY (ie painting, decorating, plumbing, electrical and carpentry).
Knowledge of moving and handling procedures and able to lift and carry.
An enthusiasm for customer care issues and the self confidence to deal with people at all levels in a professional manner.
Commitment to a flexible working pattern to meet the demands of the service.
The ability to work on your own initiative and accept responsibility for the security and safety in a public building.
The skills to undertake a wide range of buildings maintenance tasks.
Working knowledge of good health and safety practice including legislation and COSHH.

The post attracts membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.   The Town Council Offices are located at Legion House, South Street, Ashby de la Zouch.  The building has a range of meeting rooms which are rented out to a variety of groups and is the Town Council’s office base.  It is vital that the postholder is totally flexible, willing to take on additional tasks and have a positive amendable attitude and is willing to work irregular and unsociable hours.
